Initial workshop of LIFE GRANATHA
The first conference of the LIFE GRANATHA project will be held in Loro Ciufenna (AR) on 21 November 2017. Speakers of the project will speak with the following topics:
- Marcello Miozzo (DREAM) – Introduction to the project
- Davide Ascoli (UNINA) – The fire technique prescribed for the maintenance of habitat 4030
- Tommaso Campedelli (DREAM) and Roberta Berretti (DISAFA) – Continuous monitoring
A working session will be organized specifically dedicated to the relationship between rural development in mountain areas and nature conservation that will be opened by an intervention by Prof. Davide Marino (ecosystem services and their payment as prospects for the Natura 2000 network) to which they intervene the following LIFE projects:
- LIFE11 NAT / IT / 000135 FAGUS Forests of the Apennines: Good practice to conjugate Use and Sustainability
- LIFE09 ENV / IT / 000087 PPROSPOT Policy and Protection of Sporadic tree species in Tuscany forests
- LIFE13 BIO / IT / 000282 SELPIBIO Innovative forestry to increase the biodiversity of soils in artificial black pine
- LIFE12 NAT / IT / 000818 XEROGRAZING Conservation and recovery of the xero-thermal grasslands of the Susa Valley through pastoral management
A final session will finally see the illustration of positive cases of development of economic activities in the mountain area that have allowed the improvement of environmental safeguards in protected mountain areas.
