The Granatha cooperative is borned!
The Granatha Agricultural Cooperative was officially established on Thursday 28 May after meetings and planning and training activities which involved all the staff of the LIFE project. This is a very important result, which now allows us to look with more optimism at the future of the heathlands of Pratomagno and all the species found there. One of the main objectives of the project is in fact to restore a local economic chain linked to the use of heather for the production of brooms and other artefacts (which until recently involved many people), so as to ensure lasting management, and therefore the conservation, of the heathlands of Pratomagno. The Cooperative will now have about 80 hectares of heathland restored thanks to the LIFE project interventions, as well as a Management Plan and tools for making the cuts. More details in the coming weeks.
