LIFE GRANATHA presented as an example of good practice by LIFE GOPROFOR

Four different types of scrubbing are a Good Practice for the restoration of moorland habitats suitable for many protected bird species. In addition to environmental restoration, these interventions allow the collection of heathers with which traditionally were made special brooms, called “granate”, used for cleaning the roads. The LIFE Granatha Project has aimed at the reconstitution of a local production chain linked to the use of heather, to ensure over time habitat maintenance.
